Marysville-Dobbins, oregon house area?

Anyone in this area? Im comming up for a few weeks and want to do some detecting. possibly sluicing

Most of that area is all private property. I have driven around up there quite a bit, looking for spots to prospect. There are lots of nice places to work, but they all had fences around them with private property, no tresspassing signs all over. Let me know when your going and maybe we can go together. I panned some up on the Yuba out of marysville. Found some color, but you had to use a boat to get there. It was up by those big dredge operations. We were actually steelhead fishing, but I brought my pan along just in case. I know of one place where there is a ton of old tailing piles, but there was so much poison oak, it was not reasonable to work it, except for a very small area. There was alot of garbage, like someone had been using that area for an impromtu garbage dump. I have always wanted to go in on the Yuba from the South side, and head East. Thats one area I have not checked out, and by the looks of the satellite images, it might be a good place to poke around. if you can get access.

I was thinking of one spot by boat also. I dont have a map showing forestry land vs private property. Im trying to figure out geocommutator and the PL2000 so i can send out some letters asking permission before i go.
I will be staying in oregon house but it doesnt have to be in that exact area.

The water gets pretty thin quickly as you go up from Yuba City. We only made it due to ours being a jet boat, and at that we still had to power on before the rapids, and then ride the wake over the top of the river bottom. Scared the crap out of me. looked like we were running head long at full thottle into a gravel bar, and at the last minuete, he used his own wake to put us over the top of the gravel.
Unless your planning on going at flood stage, your not going to get very far with a prop driven boat. been there done that. Just my two cents worth. You might have a smaller boat.
