"No dredging in California"

Postby jawiest on Thu Aug 13, 2009 6:41 pm

Hi all
Its been along time, Ive been really swamped at work and have'nt had time to keep up with all that's been going on with this new bit of sheet I just heard about. I spoke with Pat Keene today and there going to pour a ton of money into a law suit that will hopefully get us all back in the water.

Hope everyone been well and finding that gold

I am with you Auram, I didn't get that rant at all. Whats up John?

Maybe we should put our donations into keenes lawsuit, rather than PLP.. seems that PLP has got a heaping load on thier plate, and too many issues going to properly focus on the dredging ban. Plus, all the other suits they have going, siphon off moneys that could be used to stop this particular insanity.
Or am I out of line here? I am just looking for the best bang for the buck, and get this stupid ban lifted. What is keene's basis for a suit? I mean to ask, what is thier angle of attack.

I got the letter from DFG yesterday. Damn it all. I just got the motor running good.
ANyone know where a boy could scratch up a pair of floats? I got the time now, and figure this might be the time to change the setup some, so if the ban gets lifted, I'll be ready to go.
Funny, I figured prices on used dredging stuff would drop as a result of the ban, but I have not seen it so far.
My wife asked me what I planned on doing today. I told her, "nothing". She said, "that's what you did yesterday!".
I replied, "yea, I know, I wasn't finished".

Hi diverrick
I dont know who keenes envolved with this law suit givem a call , I didnt ask it may be with the plp??? but with what little time I have had time to read in these threads the plp is on alot of peoples sheet list ????. I thought draging my dredge combo down the side of a mountain was going to be the hardest part of of this hobby "wrong" going for gold any more is a full time "F%%KING" job.

Be well John

I believe what John is trying to say is, " Where has Keene Eng. been throughout this whole process?" I tend to agree with John for a company to not be more active over the years on the boards rallying the troops, showering lobbyist with cash for the defeat of any anti mining bill says alot. I'd venture to say they made alot of money over the past few years with this latest gold rush and now everybody who owns the equipment can't even use it legally. John do you really think Keene will sue the State for lost revenues or go to the Feds for subsidies like farmers and fisherman? John if I'm off base please correct me. Mark

The more I think about it Keene may be on to something. Instead of fighting politicians go for the dough. If they sued for lost revenues and won it would open the flood gates for everybody in the supply chain, can you say Honda Motors as just one example if they could prove loss of jobs in a American production plant which may mean the Feds intervene. Small businesses in towns adversely affected could get in on the action for years to come also. Mark

To get $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ for a takings you must have IRS proof of income to collect as proof of loss-small miners get 0--
Big boyz get millions
Give your $$ to millionaires to get more millions is plain fng stupid. There ain't been shat in support for miners rights as their insane egos say we rule-BS
PLP-I would rather wipe my @$$ and flush my cash--OBSTRUCTIONISM --fng up the negotiation/hearings/meetings to perpetuate the raping of the miners movement to keep on a partyn??? $HIT NO!!!!
Give it to that cancer on the klamath so he can f us up even more-GDMF LL NO!!!!!!!!
Can you hear me now???John please excuse-goin' dredgn'

Well if their in it for the cash and not to get the legislation over turned it will show their true colors. Definitely will be an interesting one to watch and see what the outcome will be. Mark
